- Maintaining independence in our programs, advocacy, and communications
- Ensuring accountability in governance, funding, and decision-making
Transparency & Funding
APC receives funding from individuals, foundations, grants, and industry partners. Funding is accepted only when it aligns with APC’s mission and values.
APC retains full control over program content, educational materials, advocacy positions, and strategic decisions. Funding does not influence APC’s priorities or recommendations. All funds are used to advance APC’s charitable purposes in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) requirements.
Editorial Independence
APC maintains full editorial independence across all publications, digital content, educational materials, and patient stories. Content decisions are made independently by APC to ensure accuracy, credibility, and alignment with patient needs. Sponsors and partners do not influence editorial decisions. APC may share or reference content produced by third parties. While APC makes reasonable efforts to ensure the credibility of such sources, it does not control and is not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of third-party information.
Managing Conflicts of Interest
Board members, leadership, and key representatives disclose relevant financial or professional relationships. Conflicts of interest are reviewed and managed through disclosure and recusal processes to protect APC’s independence and public trust.
